A Word From Jen…3 New NDI Projects + A New Space At My House
Thank you for joining me for my weekly feature, “A Word From Jen…”, which is a short touch point I will post each week to keep you informed about what’s happening around NDI, the market, and even in my own house. Here we go!

Happy New Year! I hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday season. It always flies by so fast, and while I love the time off with my family, I’m always ready to get back to my routine. Let’s do this 2024!
The new year is already off to a great start with three new projects starting this month – a Complete Custom in the Town of Vienna, a McLean Hamlet in Springfield, and a Clarendon in Falls Church. I can’t wait to see these homes get out of the ground for these awesome NDI clients. Stay tuned for project updates!
In addition to the three new projects starting this month at NDI, I also have a new project going on in my home. I’m redecorating/repurposing a guest room that gets more use by my line dry laundry than housing our houseguests.
This project literally came to mind a week ago. I was grabbing the above laundry off my drying rack, and realized that this is one room in our home that is under utilized. In the 5 years since we’ve had this secondary guest room, I think we’ve had guests sleep here only a handful of times. So, I set a plan in place and started to execute (shop).
A little insight into my personality. I’m a doer and I make decisions quickly (I mean, why wait?). But sometimes I get so excited, I forget to tell Paul. As I was cleaning out the space (to make room for the new things), I shot this text to Paul…
HA! I’ll be sharing more about this “journey” with you soon, but today, I wanted to tell you about one of the best furniture purchases I’ve made in a long time. I received this chair from Walmart for my new space (of all places to buy furniture) yesterday, and I love it so much.
This Walmart chair has gone viral, and sold out multiple times, and now I know why. It’s roomy, it swivels, and the quality (material, cushion, etc.) is on point. I swear I sit down in this thing and I don’t want to get up! It includes three matching pillows, but you can always add another for some color.
The best part? It’s under $300 (and goes on sale often!). If you are in the market for a comfy chair, check it out!
My new space is almost done and I look forward to sharing the finished room with you soon!
