I've had the best experience with NDI, twice! We first built our home with NDI in 2018, and incredibly, they ended up giving us the keys to our newly built house 3 weeks before the original deadline they had given us. Unheard of! The second time we built with them was my parents' home 3 years ago. The pandemic complicated the supplies a bit, but NDI pushed through and my parents couldn't be happier with the result. I love NDI's model homes because they make it easy for you to know what the end product is going to look like (you can go see other houses they built as part of the pre-construction process) and the fact that they have been around for decades doing these models means they are a very well oiled machine. Contractors would come in and out without any interruption, we were so impressed! Also, there is room for customization as well. For instance, we requested "his and hers" bathrooms which is probably what I enjoy the most about our home LoL. I loved how they re-did our backyard slope also, which allowed us to have a walkout basement with lots of natural light. Our original house was from the 1950s and all the rooms were small, so expanding it would have made it look like Frankenstein (and we would have been left with tiny rooms or a tiny kitchen). Tearing down and rebuilding was a much better choice all around. We have new sewage, new pipes, new HVAC vents, all the things that are breaking in these 50s homes. And we didn't feel bad about tearing down our house because we got a non--profit to come and "deconstruct" the old house all the way to its bare bones, so most materials were repurposed or reused. Building a new home was an amazing experience for us and we are really grateful for NDI's excellent customer service and end result!

We recently built a fully custom home with NDI and have to say that the end result is incredible. The quality of work, craftsmanship, professionalism, and look of the home is amazing. It went far beyond any of our expectations. The whole team at NDI is amazing to work with particularly Lee, Annette, Dawn, Amy and Jay. Their communication is clear, customization options are endless, and they worked with us for 2 years to ensure we had the exact home we envisioned to include customizations to the site as well as the physical structure of the home. Since we did a fully custom home, it did take about 2 years to build to include all permitting, modeling, and building. Once we got our permits, the build went by fairly quickly (~ 8.5 months). My one feedback to Jennifer/Adam is that they should implement a way to get quicker pricing from the subs as this was the biggest bottleneck in our entire process. Even if it means the client would need to pay for the expedited service, this would really cut down the overall build time by months and I'm sure people would happily pay for that. Regardless, if we are ever in the situation where we will build again, NDI is definitely the company we will be using. Thank you NDI team!!

The two most important descriptors for NDI are integrity and quality. NDI completed our home in November 2019, but our relationship started some six years earlier when we first engaged them for designs/costs while working with our city on zoning issues. NDI subsequently built us a fully custom home, and I’m happy to report it is a beautiful and solid structure four years later. The key thing to note about NDI is the relationship they form with their clients. When you work with them, you become a part of their family. And they care about you and what they build for you from that point forward. Building a home is tough, there are always things that go wrong and cost more time and money. But I can honestly say that with NDI, it felt like we had a partner through it all. Jen Landers, the president, is an exceptional human being who runs NDI with integrity and a deft hand. She is always looking for designs that are both beautiful and cost efficient to appeal to her clients and save them money. Jen knows every client personally and will be there from start to finish of the build and beyond. When she says “contact me if anything goes awry with your home,” she means it. Jen stands behind her company’s work and stands beside you as her client. Kevin, our project manager, was on site every day, ensuring that the work was done well and on time and the site remained clean. He was very communicative and helped us through numerous unexpected challenges (such as when a city pipe wasn’t on our engineer’s plans and we needed to install a second sewage system…ugh!). The entire NDI team is excellent, helping you through every aspect of this extensive process. If you’re looking for a company to build you a quality home for a reasonable price, one that will stand behind their product and hold your hand in the process, then you’ve found that firm in NDI. This company can’t be beat when it comes to quality, cost, and integrity. You’re in the best hands with NDI.

Building a custom home is a huge project and the staff at NDI were very adept at guiding me through the process and simplifying the complex. Everyone I interacted with were very skilled at their job, seemed to genuinely care and were quite helpful. As with any construction project there will be things that will go wrong. Jennifer (President), Adam (Jennifer's brother and Construction Lead), and Phil (Supervisor of the Project Managers) were great collaborators at troubleshooting the unexpected and worked hard to ensure that I had a good experience. I would work with them again, and highly recommend them. My recommendations of improvement would be to expand the option of vendors that customers can use, and to consider diversity by including minority owned companies in their preferred vendors list and adding more diversity to their staff.

I interacted with NDI Sales Team - Brenda Bidinger and Site Engg Estimator Amy. Very professional, courteous and responsive. Both worked with us on rounds of pricing different models and made good efforts to get an accurate estimate for us. We did not go with NDI, primarily due to cost reasons and lack of base plan suitable for WFH (2 floor family rooms as in Old Dominion are out) compared to another builder, yet I had a great experience and would like to recognize them.
